pub enum FipsMode {
Enabled,
Disabled,
}Expand description
The FIPS mode of the gateway.
FipsMode::Enabled when the ent cargo feature is compiled in;
FipsMode::Disabled otherwise. This is a compile-time constant:
the feature is a build-time switch, not a runtime toggle.
Variants§
Enabled
FIPS 140-3 mode is active: the FIPS provider is installed, cipher suites are restricted, and non-approved primitives are rejected.
Disabled
FIPS 140-3 mode is inactive: all FIPS checks are inert (no provider self-test, no cipher-suite restriction, no primitive allowlist enforcement).
Implementations§
Source§impl FipsMode
impl FipsMode
Sourcepub fn current() -> Self
pub fn current() -> Self
The current FIPS mode (compile-time determined).
FIPS enforcement (cipher-suite restriction, primitive allowlist, certificate signature checks) is an Enterprise-only capability. The OSS build installs the aws-lc-rs provider and runs the self-test (so the attestation is available on /healthz), but does NOT enforce FIPS restrictions — an OSS operator can use any certificate signature algorithm and credential hash without validation rejecting the config.
Sourcepub fn is_enabled(self) -> bool
pub fn is_enabled(self) -> bool
True when FIPS mode is active.
