ExtensionsError

Enum ExtensionsError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum ExtensionsError { Io(String), Invalid(String), Backend(String), Unsupported(String), }
Expand description

Shared error type for all extension traits.

Non-exhaustive by design: Ent backends may surface new failure classes via ExtensionsError::Backend rather than new variants.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Io(String)

The backing store or file could not be read/written.

§

Invalid(String)

Input or stored data was malformed (e.g. config parse failure).

§

Backend(String)

The backend itself failed (connection lost, sealed, …).

§

Unsupported(String)

The operation is not supported by this implementation.

impl From<ConfigError> for ExtensionsError

Source§

fn from(e: ConfigError) -> Self

Config parse failures map to ExtensionsError::Invalid, preserving ConfigError’s path-precise Display (“config error at {path}: {message}”).

Source§

impl From<Error> for ExtensionsError

Source§

fn from(e: Error) -> Self

I/O failures map to the ExtensionsError::Io class, carrying the OS error message. Call sites needing more context (e.g. the file path) still hand-format — this conversion covers the common case (#128, DW-004 review).

Source§

impl From<ExtensionsError> for Error

Source§

fn from(e: ExtensionsError) -> Self

Converts to this type from the input type.
Source§

impl PartialEq for ExtensionsError

Source§

fn eq(&self, other: &ExtensionsError) -> bool

Tests for self and other values to be equal, and is used by ==.
1.0.0 · Source§

fn ne(&self, other: &Rhs) -> bool

Tests for !=. The default implementation is almost always sufficient, and should not be overridden without very good reason.
