pub struct HedgeConfig {
pub hedge_after_ms: u64,
pub hedge_max: u32,
}Expand description
Request hedging configuration (DW-063, upstreams[].retries.hedge).
After hedge_after_ms without a response, a speculative duplicate
request is sent to a different endpoint. The first response (headers
resolved) wins; the loser is cancelled. Hedging requires a replayable
body (buffer_max_bytes > 0) and idempotent semantics (POST is hedged
only when retry_post is true).
Fields§
§hedge_after_ms: u64Milliseconds to wait before sending a hedge copy (the “tail latency” threshold). Must be > 0. A typical value is the p90 latency of the upstream — requests slower than this get a speculative parallel copy.
hedge_max: u32Maximum number of speculative hedge copies per request (default 1). Must be in [1, 4]. Hedge copies are NOT charged against the retry budget — the budget prevents retry storms after failures, while hedging is a proactive performance optimization.
