Variants

Block

Block the request/response: return a 400 error to the client with code guardrail_blocked (prompt) or response_schema_violation / guardrail_blocked (response).

Redact

Redact the match and continue: scrub the PII/banned content from the prompt before the provider call. Prompt phase only.

Log

Log only (dry-run): record the match but allow the request through. Use to tune thresholds before switching to block.
